Our Mission: Why Do We Exist?
Believing that the Gospel transforms everything, The Town Kids exists to partner with parents in faithfully teaching the Gospel and demonstrating the love of Christ to every child. Our hope is to raise a generation who knows Christ deeply, loves Him wholeheartedly, and proclaims His truth boldly.
Our Mandate: What does God say about it?
- God calls us to faithfully teach His Word to the next generation. “You shall teach [God’s commandments] diligently to your children.” (Deuteronomy 6:7)
- God commands us to declare His glorious deeds to the next generation so they will set their hope in Him, remember His works, and keep His commandments. (Psalm 78:1-7)
- We are instructed to “train up a child in the way he should go,” trusting that “when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)
- Scripture is able to make us “wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.” (2 Timothy 3:15)
Our Ministry: How will we accomplish the vision and mission of The Town Kids?
Our Sunday morning children’s ministry is designed to support and strengthen faith in the home. We provide resources to equip parents to disciple their children, including the Sunday Summary email, Scripture memorization, and the Family Faith Connection.
Infants
We care for and comfort our youngest ones by holding, playing, and praying over them. Our goal is to create a safe and loving environment where they experience God’s love through nurturing care.
Toddlers
In the toddler room, we play, read God’s Word, and begin introducing Scripture memorization. We use The Jesus Storybook Bible to introduce key Bible stories in a simple, engaging way. Toddlers also complete a coloring page to reinforce the lesson.
Preschoolers
Preschoolers engage in a mix of structured learning and active play. Each Sunday, they hear a Bible story from The Beginner’s Gospel Story Bible and discuss how it points to Jesus. They practice a monthly memory verse together, helping them hide God’s Word in their hearts. To reinforce the lesson, they complete a coloring page and a craft. Weather permitting, they also enjoy outdoor play, giving them time to move and build friendships. Through these activities, we aim to nurture their love for Jesus in a fun and meaningful way.
Elementary (K–5th Grade)
Elementary kids meet for Sunday school on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month during the school year. They begin in the sanctuary and are dismissed before the sermon for their own Bible lesson using The Biggest Story. After their lesson, they return to the sanctuary to rejoin their families for worship.
On the 2nd, 4th, and occasional 5th Sundays, elementary children stay in the full worship service with their families. To help them engage, we provide activity clipboards with:
- Sermon-related puzzles & coloring pages
- A notes page to encourage active listening
- A drawing page to illustrate what they learned
Our heart is to create spaces where children experience God’s love, grow in faith, and build a strong biblical foundation that will last a lifetime.
